Cooking with Mustard Tips
-
Since heat causes the pungent flavor of mustard to dissipate, mustard is generally added near the end of the dish and gently heated.
-
When adding mustard to baked goods, know that it will inhibit yeast growth, thus requiring a longer rising period.
-
Use your imagination when adding mustards to recipes, but go easy and taste along the way.
Should you refrigerate mustard?
Mustard is a very safe food and is not likely to grow anything harmful if left unrefrigerated, but we recommend refrigeration of all mustards in order to keep the flavor brighter and fresher.
